Welcome to Our Church Work & Projects

On this page, you'll discover highlights from the impactful ministry work God has entrusted to us on the mission field in Panama over more than two decades.
We give all glory and thanks to God for this incredible opportunity to serve Him and the people of Panama. We are also deeply grateful to our home church—their unwavering support, faithful prayers, partnership, and love have made every step possible. Without their commitment, none of this would have been realized.
We remain eternally thankful for their generosity and for standing with us as we planted roots, built the church,
launched the foundation, and reached into high-risk communities with hope, the Gospel, and practical help, transforming lives, empowering youth, and advancing His Kingdom in Panama and beyond. God has been faithful.
For twenty-four years, my wife Kathy and I poured our lives into ministry in Panama, Central America—a season of deep faithfulness and fruitful service.
In our first four years (2001–2005), we served as missionaries with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, overseeing their church conference throughout the country. The main hub was in Chitré, but our work extended across many regions.
We acted as trusted intermediaries, coordinating building teams from the United States and other countries to construct and renovate churches. At the same time, we helped restructure and strengthen the conference through practical training in finance, administration, and leadership development—equipping pastors and congregations to grow stronger, more organized, and more effective in their calling.
These foundational years laid the groundwork for everything that followed: planting our own church in Panama City, launching the nonprofit foundation, and reaching into the heart of high-risk communities with the Gospel and practical help. We are grateful for how God used this time to build relationships, develop skills, and prepare us for the greater vision He would unfold.
For the past nineteen years, Kathy and I have served as the founding pastors of Ministerios de una Vida Abundante (MUVA) in Panama City—a vibrant, Spirit-filled church we planted from the ground up.
What began as a small gathering has grown into a thriving community through God’s grace and the faithfulness of His people. The journey has been both challenging and deeply rewarding: a long path filled with divine appointments, where we met countless wonderful individuals and witnessed the love of God and His mighty, unfolding plan at every turn.
In addition to our regular weekday and Sunday services—where we made disciples, baptized new believers, preached the Gospel, and taught the Word—we have always placed a strong emphasis on outreach beyond the church walls. From the very beginning, our heart has been to take the light of Christ into the streets, slums, and high-risk neighborhoods of Panama City—bringing hope, practical help, and the message of abundant life to those who need it most. This outward-focused calling led to the creation of our nonprofit foundation, creative violence-prevention programs, medical outreaches, sidewalk ministry, and the powerful short-film project with local youth—all flowing from the same vision: to see lives transformed and communities touched by the victorious, abundant life Jesus promises (John 10:10).
With a clear vision to reach and win souls for Christ in the hardest-to-reach places, Kathy and I imported an old panel truck from Florida and transformed it into our church on wheels—a joyful, mobile ministry platform
Every Sunday afternoon, our dedicated team gathered—sometimes numbering up to 40 volunteers in total! Together, we ventured into the high-risk inner-city neighborhoods of Panama City, areas often closed off by fear and violence. Our team included two or more clowns, a lively puppet ministry, a multimedia crew with music and visuals, and many passionate volunteers ready to serve.
We called it "La Camioneta de la Esperanza" (The Truck of Hope)—a name that perfectly captured its purpose. Through songs, games, puppet shows, Bible stories, and the simple message of God’s love, we brought joy, hope, and the Word of God directly to thousands of children and families in these challenging districts.
This creative outreach became a powerful key: opening doors, building trust, and gaining acceptance in communities that might otherwise remain unreachable. What started as a simple truck grew into a beacon of light—demonstrating that the Gospel can enter even the most dangerous places with creativity, love, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Over the years, we conducted more than 65 outreaches with La Camioneta de la Esperanza—most during Panama's dry season (December to April), when the weather allowed safe, joyful gatherings in the streets without heavy rain interrupting.
This mobile ministry became a true miracle in action: in the most violent and dangerous areas of Panama City, we recorded over 7,000 salvations! Children and entire families—many who had known only hardship, fear, and destruction—were deeply impacted by the singing, preaching, puppet shows, and clear presentation of the Good News.
It was awe-inspiring to watch the light of Jesus pierce through the darkness: hearts softened, lives transformed, and hope restored right where violence had tried to dominate. The Gospel truly shines brightest in the toughest places—proving that when we bring Christ's love with joy and creativity, no area is beyond His reach or redemptive power.
